The Kelowna Track and Field club has been in existence for close to 30 years starting out in the early 1980's. The KTFC has always depended on volunteers to make the running of the club a success whether at the executive level or on the practice field.
Every year the club plays host to the Jack Brow Memoria Track and Field Meet. Last year (2009) the club celebrated the 25th anniversay of The Brow with over 700 athletes from around the Pacific Northwest and Alberta in attendance.
This year's meet is scheduled for the July 3 & 4, 2010 weekend at The Apple Bowl in beautiful Kelowna, B. C.
The Kelowna Track and Field club has helped produce some incredible athletes who have gone on to compete at the university and collegiate level as well as internationally. One former Kelowna track and field athlete who is currently competing on the international stage and represented Canada at the 2004 Olympics in Athens is Kelowna's Malindi Elmore. Many athletes from the Kelowna Club are currently attending Canadian and American universities and colleges on athletic scholarships.
Track and field is a great way to keep in shape, meet new friends and challenge one's self to strive for the best. Hope to see you on the track soon.
